This painting was inspired by a beautiful mountain valley called the East Fork, just outside of Pagosa Springs, CO. This was the original route over the mountains before they put in the road over Wolf Creek Pass. "Calm Before the Storm" has a double meaning behind it. Several times this area was to be developed into different things like a ski resort. A Grizzly bear saved it from that fate back in the 80's and then in 2000 it was being developed into an area that was for only the incredibly rich. The economy and concerned people for the environment saved it once again from changing from this beautiful valley that you can see in this painting to an area that only an elite few could enjoy. We have not inherited this earth and its beautiful creatures, but are borrowing it from our unborn children.

Each image comes hand signed by Lori and double matted. The size represents the total matting size, thus making the image one size smaller.
